Winnipeg is know as "The River City" and there is no better way to see it than by boat. Cast off directly from the Royal Manitoba Yacht Club docks to the Manitoba Legislative Grounds, The Forks or even through the St. Andrews Lock system at Lockport, Manitoba up to Lake Winnipeg. There are endless sights to explore. Along with resident member boats, we welcome transient boats to our visitor docks and the Dockside Restaurant & Bar. If you launch from the North Perimeter, St. Vital, Maple Grove or any other Winnipeg boat launch make sure you stop by to see us!
All motorized boat operators in Canada must have proof of competency, such as a Pleasure Craft Operator Card, (more commonly known as a boating license) regardless of age, length of boat or engine horsepower, other than in waters of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. Operating without proof of competency can result in a $250.00 fine. If your boat is equipped with a motor, even those smaller than 10hp or an electronic trolling motor, you need the card.
